About Us

American Refuse has been servicing the San Joaquin Valley for the past 42 years providing excellent service to residential, commercial and industrial trash service. In more recent years, American Refuse has offered ”volunteer” recycling to resididents in the cities of Wasco and Shafter. American Refuse has also assisted major companies in evaluating their waste and assisted them with diversion processing and recycling efforts. American Refuse helps companies and cities achieve great diversion goals by working with our sister company, Carousel Recycling and the JSM Transfer Station where items that were once thrown into our landfills can be picked and recycled.

American Refuse prides itself in working with our community. American Refuse has partnered with the City of Wasco on many occasions offering “Community Clean-Up Days”. Donations of trucks, staff and bins have been provided throughout the city to ground crews and bulk item drop-off locations. This program has been a huge success in keeping our community clean.

American Refuse cares about our youth. At Richland Middle School, American Refuse provides a recycling container for the public where money received from the recyclables is then donated back to the student body. American Refuse has continually supported the athletics programs at Wasco High School and Shafter High School.

American Refuse has implemented “That’s How I Roll”, a recycling program offered to schools in our franchise area. The program is committed to educating our youth on the importance of recycling. This is a compliment to the existing public speaking efforts conducted at civic clubs and schools in the past.

We pride ourselves in our customer service from the minute you call where you are greeted by a live person not an automated phone tree. All of our employees have had and continue to have training specific to their jobs, safety, and safety toward others.
